Hanro has commissioned the fine artist, illustrator and feature film director David Foote to create a 65-foot mural in it's flagship Washington Street store. Typical of Foote's eccentric, creative vision, the curved mural's complex technique -- a seamless, street-art-inspired collage applied with wheat paste to a custom built elevated surface -- rivals it's innovative design. Foote incorporated the lace pattern of Hanro's iconic garments into his portraits of the Hanro "woman." Up close, one would notice that the lines that form the drawings are actually millions of female faces borrowed from many of Foote's signature paintings -- produced by deleting digital color code and replacing the code with his own work. The mural serves as a preview of Foote's upcoming show, Open Face.
